Gav Moore pushes SETI@home
past the 4 million mark

On October 1, 2002, Gav Moore registered with SETI@home and downloaded the screensaver to become our 4 millionth user. Welcome to the team, Gav! SETI@home sends a heartfelt thanks to Gav and to all of our participants who have helped make SETI@home the largest distributed computing project on Earth.

Gav was kind enough to answer a few short questions for us:

Q) Where do you live (generally)? (Other background info that you wouldn't mind sharing and that might be of interest to others would also be nice.)
A) I live in North Wales, which is part of the U.K. I was born here but moved to the U.S. when I was six. I lived in Austin, TX, San Francisco, CA, and Phoenix, AZ. I moved back to the U.K. when I was 16.

Q) How did you learn about & get interested in SETI@home?
A) I was watching a program on T.V. about extraterrestrial life and space, when the SETI program was mentioned, I took note of the web address, and found the site.

Q) Other hobbies/interests that might be of interest to others?
A) I enjoy playing basketball, football and also go-karting.

Welcome to our community, Gav, and thank you for contributing to the search for extraterrestial intelligence!
