Keep SETI@home alive - join The Planetary Society

You already support us by running our screensaver. The time that you volunteer is an invaluable asset to us and we greatly appreciate it.

But we also need money to keep SETI@home going. Running the world's largest supercomputer isn't cheap. Our budget includes network bandwidth costs, staff salaries, and computer hardware maintenance.

The Planetary Society is our founding sponsor and has continually reaffirmed their financial support over the past 5 years. Without them SETI@home would not exist.

The Planetary Society has committed to donate $250,000 to us, asking in return, that at least 3,750 SETI@home users join The Planetary Society. Membership in the Society costs about $30 per year, so the best way to support SETI@home financially is to join The Planetary Society. You spend $30, we get double that. Plus, you get a subscription to their excellent bimonthly magazine, The Planetary Report, and discounts on telescopes, planetarium tickets, and many other exciting things.

The Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the exploration of our solar system and the search for extraterrestrial life. Not only have they generously supported SETI@home from the start, but they support eight other SETI projects as well! With your help they can do even more.

We at SETI@home strongly encourage you to join The Planetary Society. Your membership in the Society will help keep SETI@home alive.

Thank you.
