here's a short S.E.T.I.- story you might find interesting:
i joined the search last year...and, believe it or not,
one day there was a signal found! not from another world
but from this very one. it passed the 407 miles between me
and the sender through modern telephone lines and reached me
unexpectedly in may last year, just a few months after i had
begun my search. 
 
in december last year the sender and me got married!
 
who he is? agentbeo from seti.germany who's one of the operators
and admins of seti:germany's team-chat (where we came to know)
and homepage ;o).
 
in may 2001 we first met personally at the first german
seti@home-meeting in weimar.
 
today we're happily married and live together in germany's south.
thank you for this great project! without it we might have never met.
